The Student Plot: In the middle of campus we have, opening soon, the new outside square featuring plenty of benches to sit down and have your lunch. But did you know that if you walk towards the bottom of the square you'll come across a beautiful botanic garden cultivated by our horticulture students? So why not smell the sweet scents that are lend by flowers in your break of half an hour.

What's Going on Right Now?!: Don't ask me. Music events, art exhibitions, and comedy gigs that are going on right now can all be found in The Skinny. So go on, look it up and enrich your life :-)
Sport with Discount: Student memberships are 20% off from the full prize. The options are vast: Edinburgh Leisure has 29 venues available, which include gyms, pools, rock climbing and even golf (though check first which are included in the membership you chose). If you're interested in hiring a pitch or sports hall for events and societies activities, than you'll benefit from a 50% student discount on casual bookings and extended lets in 14 of their high school venues. The only requirement is that you display your student ID and that of other participants. Edinburgh University Sports Union: If you like to join sports unions outside the ones running in SRUC, you can always join one of Edinburgh University. Club Directory (ed.ac.uk) provides a long list of teams you can join. They also have various facilities you could book for events or society activities, but please note that to receive a discount you have to be an Edinburgh University student. Also it is important to note that, although you can join EUSU's societies, you cannot join their British University & College Sports (BUCS) events as a SRUC student. Contact EUSU for more information.
