Hobby or Passion?
Have a hobby you’re passionate about? Wanting to start a group to create events and new friendships? Or would you simply like to learn new skills? It might be time to start a society, and starting a society at SRUC is easy and straightforward!
Not only do we have support in place to get you the society you want, but the process is also simple! You only need a total of 3 students (including yourself) to start a society.
Yes, You Only Need Three
Three people, of which one fulfils the President (or Chair) role, to lead the society. Someone else takes the role of Secretary to organise whatever the society does.
And, of course, you need someone to be a Treasurer – because your society can have a budget too!
Budget, Resources and Support
As a matter of fact, we have funding available for societies, which is great if you want to organise an event or just want some nice stuff for your society members.
Not only that, we also have other resources such as discount lists for facilities, as well as a dedicated staff member to help you out.
Next Step
Once you have found your two other students to fulfil these roles, all you need to do is contact us, and we’ll send you a society constitution to fill in.
