Sport, Sport, Sport!
It's exam time, or you're on your break, you've oodles and noodles of course work, or just finished all of it. Anyhow, all you can think of every single minute is climbing trees, running up and down the street and jumping from spot to spot. In short: you need to lose all your energy, it's bursting at the seems! But how? Well, here's the answer: sport, sport, sport.
Lucky for you, you've come to the right virtual place. Because not only does your Students' Association - SRUCSA - fight for student rights like actual gladiators, we're also promoting sport opportunities in which you can participate. They're super accesible and you don't need prior experience even when participating in a competition.

''But article writer,'' I imagine you ask, ''what are those amazing things you're speaking about?" Glad you (or I) asked. Scroll a wee bit down this page and you find them. Right there, you can find sport events happening all over Scotland, some even outside. Alternatively, you can also go directly to the Scotland Student Sport (SSS) Playwaze page and sign up there. If you struggle to sign up, just contact us and we'll get you sorted.
Struggle to pay for entry or transport costs? Don't fret! We could help out with funding. Just scroll down this page and look under Individual Competitors for the funding request form. Just follow the steps on there and Bob's your uncle. We've already given out lots of grants from first time participants to medal champs. To students going to games in a nearby town, to world championships in Italy - so, really, we love to sponsor, please apply!
Also Great for Societies
SRUCSA is member of SSS and BUCS - public bodies that organise student sport competitions - and which means that you can take part in any of their competitions and sport events. That really means you could pretty much sport the entire year round, because there are absolutely lots of events to take part in. SSS alone organises well over 100 events a year in Scotland.
More than that, SSS and BUCS are also organising leagues between teams, this is great for student societies. Just contact us if you like your team to represent SRUC. Your society doesn't have to be a sport society, anyone can take part!
